10672025 Diesel Power Plant Wartsila 50 MW / 50 Hz with 6 x 20V32 HFO Generator Sets

The diesel power plant has a total installed capacity of 53.5 MW and comprises six identical Wartsila 20V32 generator sets, each rated at 8.9 MWe (50 Hz). The generating sets are equipped with asynchronous AKV alternators and are designed to operate on heavy fuel oil (HFO). All necessary auxiliary systems are included.

Each engine operates at 750 rpm and is turbocharged with intercooling. The engines are mounted on base frames that also function as wet oil sumps. The generator sets have accumulated approximately 35,000 total operating hours and have been maintained in accordance with Wartsila’s service guidelines. Maintenance has been performed by Wartsila Service and a certified service provider specializing in Wartsila engines.

Engine cooling is provided by a radiator-based cooling system with two separate cooling circuits. The delivery scope includes complete mechanical and electrical systems for HFO operation and for power dispatch at 132 kV / 50 Hz to the local grid. It has black start unit, water  treatment unit, exhaust gas steam boilers, auxiliary steam boiler for start up and complete work shop tools.

All equipment is in good operational condition and can be demonstrated under full-load conditions. The plant’s operating and engine control systems are based on Wartsila WOIS and WISE platforms, with  Modicon Schneider PLCs. The electrical cabinets, including Siemens 11 kV VCB (vacuum circuit breakers) and all motor control centers (MCCs), are also supplied by Siemens.
